Andrew studied design at the University of Colorado Boulder, and always enjoyed the parts of projects where he got to prototype and make things with his hands. After studying furniture making and metal working, he decided to take on the challenge of creating a camper from scratch for his '05 Tacoma. He completed the camper his senior year and spent the summer living in it, and decided it was time to for an upgrade. After selling his truck he bought a van and outfitted it, and in doing so fell in love with the design and process of building vans. Now after working for Vansmith in Boulder and working freelance for a year, Andrew decided it was time to make his own builds official and started Rex Overland.
